FIRST LEVEL HOSPITAL CHEERS CHIEFTAINESS MWANJAWANTHU

CHIEFTAINESS Mwanjawanthu of the Nsenga speaking people of Petauke district has praised President Edgar Lungu for considering her chiefdom with a first level hospital.
ZANIS reports that the traditional leader said this yesterday during the ground breaking ceremony of the first ever first level hospital by health Minister Chitalu Chilufya in Kaumbwe constituency.
The Chieftainess said she is thankful to Government for taking the development of the first level Hospital to her Chiefdom as the facility will be of good help to the larger population of people in the area, who used to walk long distances to access medical care at Mwanjawanthu Rural Health centre.
And Health Minister, Dr. Chilufya said the ground breaking ceremony of a first level Hospital in the area was one way of President Edgar Lungu's adherence to his promise taking health care services closer to the people countrywide.
Dr Chilufya said the first level hospital whose works will commence soon will have a nursing school, 200 bed capacity, X-ray and theatre department.
Meanwhile, Eastern Province Health Director, Kennedy Kabuswe said the coming of the hospital will improve access to comprehensive health services and lessen long distances that people used to cover to access medical care in some health posts in the area, reduce mobility and deaths in the area.
